The third graders had their first MCA test today. They took part one of the reading portion. Tomorrow they will take part 2. They were very serious and worked hard. Keep up the great work! We completed our Pennies for Peace lessons last week. The students raised a total of $42.59 which Mrs. Raymond matched and sent to the Central Asia Institute. It was a wonderful lesson and the students learned so much about children from different parts of the world and how be a philantropist. The students have all created businesses for our box city. Today they made advertisements for their businesses. We still need to think of a creative name for our city. Ask your child about some of the businesses in our city. The class is really coming along with learning their math facts. We are rapidly completing the multiplication times tables. It will take practice for these facts to become memorized. Keep studying at home. For the next two weeks we will be reading the story, The Crowded House. It is a fun story that the children are enjoying. There will be no spelling list or test next week.
